The City that Never Sleeps. (Heavy Picture Post. Enjoy!)

Trying to connect to the Wi-Fi in Times Square, but was unsuccessful.

Made mother take this picture because of the guy in the grey pants. He. Was. Beautiful.

Hello All! This past weekend I ventured to NYC with my crazy loving family and had a fun filled time. Went to the tourist-y spots such as Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Chinatown, and Little Italy. I also went to Ground Zero for the first time. We didn't get to see the memorial but just being there where everything happened that day was so moving. We ate lunch in Chinatown and stopped at this little park there where a bunch of older Asian men and women were playing chess/checkers. Those games were intense. Then walked to Little Italy to get the famous pizza from Lombardi's. DELISH. I swear I thought I saw Bruno Mars in a car driving by, but then I checked his twitter account and it said that he was in Hawaii. Fail.

As the night went on, the weather turned from a nice brisk breeze to freezing. I felt like I had no body heat, but the beat of the city kept me going. I know my headband does not match my outfit whatsoever, but I really did not care at all because it kept my head and ears warm. I was so glad to go back to the hotel that night and sit in the comfy warm bed eating a late dinner while watching Elf.

The next day we went to a Japanese market called Matsuwa Market in New Jersey along the Hudson and I just gotta say, this place is pretty amazing. Not only was it a Japanese grocery store; there was a food court with legit Japanese food. They also had DIVINE green tea ice cream which I'm in the mood for right now. The whole place was super clean and the people were so nice. If you live in New Jersey, def. check this place out. In one of the pics above you can see that I purchased two face masks, one ginseng and one red wine, a Shseido shampoo and conditioner, and a soymilk based face lotion. The description on the back says its a lotion but has the ingredients and consistency of a toner so  I'm assuming it's a toner. I'm still in the process of trying out these products so I'll post a later post on how they are.

So other than the bitter cold, crazy NY drivers honking at you, taking the wrong subway which took us to Brooklyn, getting lost going to the Matsuwa Market but ending up at the BEAUTIFUL Hudson River/NYC skyline overlook (first pictures), I had a pretty swell time with my family.

Be Blessed.

Pre-Thanksgiving

Happy day before Thanksgiving! I'm sure all of you are running around buying your last minute food items and cleaning up your house for all of your guests, and if not, I'm the one that's doing that. Tomorrow will be full of fun festivities with the fam. You can guarantee that pictures will be posted. It's a white v-neck kinda day with dark skinnies and a scarf to keep me warm while I'm out doing errands. Have a Blessed day!!

Fun. Flowy. Floral.

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend! Saturday I worked until 3:30 p.m. then I rushed home and had only 15 minutes to shower, change, and do my hair because I had to leave to go to a church Thanksgiving event. Thankfully I already had an outfit planned so I just blew dry my hair, put it in a tight bun and did my makeup in the car. Whew. I took out the bun and I had beach-y waves which eventually turned into looser wavy hair as the night went on. I ate so much food at the event and I told myself, this is only the beginning of the "stuffing my face" festivities.

The first picture is of me and my cousin who is dressed up in traditional Hmong clothing. I was going to wear my Hmong clothes but had no time to put it on because it takes about 230948230 hours to put it on. Everything is hand stitched and embroidered to make each piece unique. My dress only cost me $20 and I was totally rockin' out on my $5 shoes. I am in such adoration with this dress. It's so comfortable and feminine. I'm so excited for this Thanksgiving vacation to come. It's going to be filled with lots of family, food, shopping, and dodge ball. Bring it.

City of Brotherly Love

Happy Friday! Went shopping on Walnut and Chestnut Street in Philadelphia the other week. Bought a couple things from Urban Outfitters and Zara. I just gotta say that I love Philly. I saw the Liberty Bell for the first time last year and it was just amazing to see such an important piece of history. The art museum is a great place to visit also. Plus... you get to run up the steps where Rocky Balboa ran up.  And you can't forget about the infamous rivalry of Pat's and Geno's cheesesteaks. I have to confess that I have yet to try both of them. Another great place to visit is the Reading Terminal. It's a building full of different foods such as Middle Eastern, Greek, Fresh Amish grown produce, jams, candy, pastries...and seriously so much more. My recommendation if you go to the Reading Terminal is "Dinic's Pulled Pork Sandwich." This place was featured on Travel Channels "Man vs. Food" and when I had it, it was purely heavenly. I still have lots of other places to explore in this beautiful city.

Under the Weather

I finally have a moment away from homework to post up a look. I wore this just yesterday to school. Dressy much? I know. I have a theory though; when you're feeling under the weather and the actual weather itself is not inspiring and motivating, DRESS.TO.IMPRESS. It cures everything.

I also must boast about my shoes. The other week I was at school and I realized that an art show was happening that night. I literally had nothing appropriate packed with me. All I had were the jeans and top I had with me. So I ran to the mall looking as hard as I could for something fitting for the show....and cheap. Found an amazing dress that I've been eyeing that was $30, got it for $20. The shoes above, got them for a steal of $5. Thats right, $5. And can I just say that I was so proud of myself. I'll post up the dress in a future post.

M.I.B. (Missing in Blogging)

Hello Beautiful People,

I've been lacking on the posts lately due to school and work. School has been so crazy lately. I have four classes; Graphic Design, 3-D design, Fashion Draping, and Drawing, and I have project after project for all of those classes. So as you can imagine I am going crazy running around finishing all of these projects while at the same time trying to fit time in to do something called "eating."

Be blessed.

Coffee and a Lanvin Muse

Lanvin RTW Fall 2011
Sitting with coffee this morning, I fell in love with Lanvin's fall ready to wear 2011 line. He takes black to a whole new level, adds structured capes, and who knew mixing knits with satin would look oh so fabulous. Strong shoulders and hip lines gives strength, but yet everything still remains delicate and flatters the body. The color palette is soft with nudes, creams, mustard yellows, and a touch of fuchsia and corals for intensity. Everything about this fall line is simply divine. Check it out if you have not yet.
